After missing Carolina Kickoff this year due to an unfortunate mixture of ice and snow, Darkside started the season off strong by tying for third place at Queen City after a tough loss to Wilmington. Tally Classic was the next tournament on the list, and Darkside started off strong going 4-0 on Saturday with an intense win on universe over DUF to finish off the day. Sunday started off with a hard-fought game in which Auburn prevailed on universe point, although Darkside did get a turn and a chance to score. After beating Georgia 12-11, the team finished off the day with a friendly match against Florida to end up tied for fifth. The third tournament of the season was Easterns. Saturday started with convincing victories over Virginia Tech, Illinois, and Michigan, before losing to Pittsburgh. The Saturday morning game ended up being filled with rain, but Darkside fought through it (“Darkside loves the slop!”) to beat Stanford and proceed to the semi-finals where they lost to Massachusetts. Darkside is back at the grindstone working hard as they prepare to move into the postseason with Sectionals and Regionals to fight for a bid to Nationals.
